  Lajkonik
Lajkonik, once called the Little Horse of Zwierzyniec celebrates his feast once a year only. This date is precisely defined and implicitly respected – this is the first Thursday after the Corpus Christi Day. On this day, regardless of the weather, an oddly dressed rider on a fancy little horse with a banner, wends his way on the traditional route escorted by some raftsmen and eight-people band of musicians. Legends associates it with one of three historically proven Tatar raids upon Cracow. In 1287 during the reign of Leszek Czarny, the last invasion of the Tatar hordes upon Cracow took place, the only one in which the attackers were defeated. According to this legend, the success was achieved greatly due to Zwierzyniec craftsmen’s contribution.
